“The Birth Package”

So… this is what happens when we are born, right?

Somewhere during conception, our parents’ sperm and egg send a loud heavenly notification:

“Attention Heaven! New human loading… delivery scheduled to Planet Earth.”

God looks at the alert and says, “Ahhh yes… I know this one very well.”

You see, long before that notification ever existed, He had already thought of us. He had already interacted with us, laughed with us, shared intimacy with us, and lovingly explained who we are and why we exist. Then, with perfect intention (and zero mistakes), He places us into an extremely specific lineage, bloodline, and family because no one is randomly born. Ever.

Once we are introduced into our mummy’s womb, God personally supervises the whole operation. For nine beautiful months, we grow under His watchful eye, enjoying the most elite lifestyle package known to humanity: free food, free sleep, free warmth, free comfort, and no responsibilities whatsoever. Honestly, it is heaven before heaven. God handles us gently in there, making sure everything grows exactly as it should.

Now… when it is time to come out, some of us suddenly decide we are not ready.

“Actually Lord, I’m quite comfortable here.”

So, we stay a little longer than nine months maybe because the comfort is unmatched, maybe because it truly is not God’s timing yet, or maybe because the enemy is trying to cause unnecessary delays. Still, most of us arrive right on schedule alive and breathing and even when some do not, God remains worthy of praise regardless.

The moment we step into the world, reality slaps us gently… or not so gently.

“Hold on—where am I?”

“Why is it so hot? Or freezing?”

“Why are these people so loud?”

Or worse…

“Why are they so quiet? Don’t they realise I just arrived?”

(Please forgive me I am clearly imagining baby thoughts here.)

From that point on, we settle into families, bloodlines, cultures, and environments, and our physical and emotional growth begins. Our spirit man, however, is still very much guarded by God it has not been shaped by the world yet. But as we grow, we start learning behaviours, values, habits, and mindsets from our surroundings. Over time, these become thick skins protective layers we did not even realise we were putting on.

Often especially when we are not born into godly homes (and sometimes even when we are) the person we were created to be does not fully show up. The deep koinonia we once had with our Father in heaven feels distant. So, God, being the loving Father that He is, lights a small fire in our hearts a hunger, a longing, a curiosity. Suddenly, truths start appearing as revelations, and we think, “Wow, this feels so new!”

Meanwhile, heaven is quietly laughing because it was always part of us. It was in our DNA all along—we just did not know we could go back and ask the questions.

Eternity lives in the heart of every human being. God knows exactly how to reach us through the Spirit, but only a heart that is not rebellious can truly recognise His voice and respond.

And because God is endlessly kind, He made the way back to Him simple. He gave us His Son, Jesus our Mediator so we no longer need animal sacrifices or complicated rituals. Jesus became the sacrifice once and for all. His death was the greatest gift humanity has ever received for the past, the present, and the future.

As I reflect on these things daily, my love and appreciation for God only deepen. It makes me want to dwell with Him, sit with Him, and yes… have a daily coffee date with Him. Hebrews reminds us that He is the Author and Finisher of our faith, and John 3:16 ties it all together perfectly.

What an unbelievably loving God.
