The wisdom of Difference

Sometimes, when I think about my Heavenly Father and attempt to fathom the depths of His thoughts, I find myself both fascinated and overwhelmed. His wisdom is so immeasurable that my own understanding cannot even be compared to a single grain of sand in the vastness of creation.

Take, for example, two siblings born to the same parents. They are raised under the same roof, yet their ways of thinking can be remarkably different. One may possess a highly analytical and scientific mind, while the other flourishes through creativity and artistic expression. One may have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, while the other excels in leadership and management. One may be exceptionally organised, while the other operates with a more spontaneous approach. One may be highly innovative, while another is gifted in strategy and execution.

Yet neither is superior to the other.

Each carries a unique piece of God’s magnificent design. Each possesses strengths that complement the other, when they choose collaboration over competition, they become a force capable of accomplishing extraordinary things together.

The story of the Tower of Babel has always fascinated me. Although the motive behind their project was misguided, what amazes me is the remarkable power of unity. Their ability to work together with one purpose and one language was so significant that Scripture records God’s observation of their potential. It reveals what humanity can achieve when people join forces and move with shared vision.  God has created each of us with remarkable uniqueness. We are wonderfully designed, beautifully different, and intentionally gifted. If we are patient enough to build together rather than compete against one another, there is virtually no limit to what can be accomplished for His Kingdom.

For many years, I have believed that unhealthy competition is not the heart of God, and the more I reflect on it, the more convinced I become. We were never created to live in constant rivalry. We were created for collaboration, partnership, and unity. We are called to combine our gifts, strengths, perspectives, and experiences so that the name of Jesus may be glorified through a spirit of excellence. Therefore, let’s build with intentionality, resilience, make room for creativity, cultivate understanding, embrace unity in diversity and above all, seek the mind of Christ in everything we do.

At times, the journey may feel challenging. There will be moments when answers seem hidden and opportunities appear out of reach. Yet let us continue to seek the Ancient of Days, Asking Him to reveal mysteries that have not yet been uncovered. May we Ask Him to grant us insight into hidden things that can position us for greater influence and purpose. May He give us the wisdom of King Solomon and the discernment of Daniel. Daniel gained access to kings, rulers, and influential places not merely because of education or social standing, but because God granted him revelation, understanding, and divine favour. Through discernment and the knowledge of mysteries, he stood before the mighty of the earth.

This reminds me that life is not always determined by how educated, qualified, or refined a person may be. While knowledge, training, and personal development are important and should never be neglected, there is a dimension that surpasses them all: the favour and grace of God. Let Us Train ourselves diligently in the natural, developing our skills, sharpening our gifts, pursuing excellence in our field, yet beyond all of that, learning to draw from the heavenly fountain whose stream never runs dry. There is a wisdom that comes from above, a wisdom that no university can fully teach and no human institution can completely provide.

As Scripture says:

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3

And:

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” James 1:5

Ahhh… I genuinely lack the English vocabulary to fully express who my Daddy is. The more I know Him, the more I realise that He is Almighty, Supreme, Sovereign, and completely unrivalled. He rules over the affairs of the earth with absolute authority and unmatched wisdom.

Now I understand why we often say at work:

“Kaiii… He is toooooo Excellent!”   This is a word I will remind myself of daily:

Keep building.

Keep learning.

Keep collaborating.

Keep seeking His wisdom.

Keep drawing from Heaven.

For when God breathes upon a life, ordinary limitations can no longer define its possibilities.
